Hands-On Assignment 2
Social Networking has became more widespread than ever. In the day and age where work and career take the priority, people are finding themselves in desperate need for more social interactions. Social Networking, in a sense, provides a way for users to connect with other using media-based platforms. With some notable examples including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram,... The technology is not only limited to individual usage, but businesses and popular industries also employ social media as an effective tool to help boost their influence through targeted advertisements. Employers that are looking for new staff can utilize it to seek out potential candidates. Clients that wish to connect with a company are also able to do so through the brand's main social media site. In short, Social Networking allows people to connect with their friends, peers, family members virtually, while simultaneously act as a link that bridge the gap between big companies and their customers, boosting sale and enhancing brand's awareness.
As stated in my previous posts, as popular as social media right now, I still seldom find myself in need of using one on a daily basis. A few years ago it might have been different, as I used to be a fairly active Facebook user. All of which was put on a hold once I got into High School, and since then I have not found any interest in getting back into using social media again. Despite not being a user myself, I still occasionally browse Twitter and Tik Tok. Either to find inspirations and references for my drawings, or to just simply relax. I do not have an account in any of the sites, so my experience is limited to just lurking around, checking out others' commentaries without providing my own inputs, and of course, no online friends. Unlike many others, I find having friends online does not substitute for a real life companion. I value face-to-face human interactions so all my friends consist of people that are willing to hang out with me directly and partaking in outdoor activities that are otherwise impossible through a computer screen. This is also the same case when it comes to my family members. So often that I heard young adults nowadays would rather spend their free time gluing into their phones and checking out social media instead of interacting with their families. A habit that I myself is completely against as I really treasure my parents and would absolutely prioritize them over anything else. I can not stretch enough how important it is to have a good relationship with your family members. Online friends can come and go, but your family will always be there.
